Dusan Vlahovic was rumored to be on his way out last summer but stated he never thought about leaving and pledged his allegiance to Juventus in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“My summer wasn’t any different from the previous ones. Nothing happened from my viewpoint. I’ve always stayed focused and serene, even during the trip to the United States, when I missed one game due to injury. I’ve always been certain about wanting to stay. Rumors are part of the game. You get mad if you listen to everything. I isolated myself and only thought about the pitch and was thrilled that my desire came true.”
Vlahovic commented on his renewal, which Juventus are looking to obtain to lower the striker’s financial burden.
“I still have two and a half years on it. We aren’t in a rush, but director Cristiano Giuntoli and my agent are talking. I’d be very happy to stay here. In reality, this club is even better than I imagined. You can realize its greatness only by being part of it. Everybody would like to be in our place. I have never had any doubt.”
Vlahovic snapped out of a slump versus Inter.
“I wasn’t anxious about it. Football and life are filled with ups and downs. Your mentality and how much you manage to stay lucid and not be conditioned make the difference. I wasn’t worried but simply concentrated on helping the team. When you break through, goals arrive in bunches.”
