Vlahovic Rejects Fiorentina Renewal, Premier League Giants Rekindle Interest

Fiorentina marksman Dusan Vlahovic was in the spotlight in the summer transfer window and with his contract yet to be renewed in Florence, there is growing speculation for the Serbian youngster to move clubs.

La Viola have so far failed to offer a concrete offer for the 21-year-old and it looks like they have virtually given up hopes of retaining the services of one of the hottest young prospects in world football.

Club president Rocco Commisso recently commented on the issue by saying: “Our offer had been improved over time to meet the requests of Dusan and of his entourage but, despite our efforts, the proposal was not accepted.”

He was long linked throughout the summer with Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid and also Milan, a club Vlahovic sees as a potential destination for his development.

However, according to recent reports from Todofichajes, Manchester City are a likely destination for the talented forward as the English club continue their search for Sergio Aguero’s direct replacement after failing to bring in Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

Fiorentina would also prefer selling him to Manchester City in the January winter market, thus avoiding the reinforcement of their rivals in Serie A.

As a much younger prospect, Vlahovic will arrive for no less than €70m – with his contract with La Viola expiring in June 2023.
