Vlahovic Renders Ray of Hope on Fiorentina Contract Extension

Serbian sensation Dusan Vlahovic has broken silence on an apparent move out of Florence, with several of the world’s best clubs on the hunt for his signature.

His contract runs out at the end of the current season and the January transfer window provides the youngster with the chance to sign a pre-contract agreement with a club of his choice, given his impending free agent status.

In his recent comments, Vlahovic has given La Viola faithful a ray of hope regarding his possible stay at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Speaking to Serbian daily newspaper Politika, the 21-year-old has reveled in the fact that a ‘beautiful story’ in brimming in Florence.

“I have stated this several times so far. A beautiful football story is being made here in Florence. We have a good team, great football players, great support from the fans. It all deserves respect.”

Vlahovic hopes to carry La Viola to Europe, where they last appeared in 2016/17 – in the UEFA Europa League.

“Only God knows what will happen in the next period. My wish is to bring Fiorentina to Europe, because we have not been in Europe for a long time. I don’t know what can happen overnight. We’ll see.”

He has not yet accepted Fiorentina’s extension offer, making him vulnerable to a big money move in the current transfer market. However, he refuses to rule out a contract renewal.

“Never say never. But at the moment I am focused on new victories,” he said.

Vlahovic has been offered the highest contract ever in the history of the club, but to no avail. Now, it is no secret that Rocco Commisso would want to cash in on the talented striker rather than see him leave for free at the end of the season.

Arsenal are the latest club to show transfer interest, and any offer in the range of €80m is sure to attract Fiorentina’s attention.
