Vlahovic Reportedly Not Keen on Joining Arsenal in January

Fiorentina would like to sell Dusan Vlahovic in January to end the saga and start building toward the future. On the other hand, his price tag remains sky-high, and the player is in no rush to move. The Viola have held concrete talks with Arsenal, which have put a sizeable sum on the table, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

Fiorentina ask for around €80M to sell the Serbian starlet. The Gunner could come close to such a fee through some bonuses. It may not be too difficult for the clubs to reach an agreement, given that there is a mutual desire to get it done. The London side is eager to beat out the competition, which would be fiercer next summer. However, Vlahovic is biding time.

According to the transfer market expert, Arsenal have had trouble dialoguing with his entourage. The starlet and his agents are waiting to see whether more interesting options could arise. The center-forward might prefer to transfer to Juventus or Manchester City. But those outfits are less prone to making this kind of investment in the winter.

After the loss to the Bianconeri, Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano voiced his concerns: “I do not know how the January window will go. There is too much noise about it, and it bothers me. Anyway, Vlahovic is very focused and is giving his 100 percent. We will see what happens in the transfer market, and then we will assess it.” The 21-year-old is under contract until 2023 and refused the extension. Fiorentina also offered him to Tottenham, with a lukewarm response.
