Milan Eye Promising Genoa Prodigy on Loan at Reggiana

Milan have taken a keen interest in bolstering their backline as Stefano Pioli suffers the onset of injury upon injury in his camp. Davide Calabria most recently joined the list of three other defenders ruled out of action – Pierre Kalulu, Marco Pellegrino, and Mattia Caldara. It is imperative for the Rossoneri management to onboard a backup at the earliest.

As per Sky Italia (via Calciomercato), Reggiana defender Alessandro Marcandalli is a prime target for Milan to boost their defensive future. The 21-year-old stopper is currently on loan in Serie B from Genoa.

Product of Atalanta’s youth academy before moving to Gorgonzola-based Giana Erminio, Marcandalli was sent on loan to Pontedera in Serie C from Genoa the season before, where he emerged as one of the club’s best players.

Milan chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has been following the youngster for quite a while now, while Lloyd Kelly and Finn Van Breemen also remain potential targets.

The right-footed center-back’s contract in Genoa expires in the summer of 2026, and Milan could make an effort to try and sign him at the end of the season, with his transfer market value at an affordable rate of €400k (via Transfermarkt).
