West Ham and Milan Pursuing Promising Spezia Youngster

Jakub Kiwior was one of the revelations of the 2021/2022 season, and he has started to draw attention from West Ham and Milan. The Premier League outfit tendered their opening offer, but Spezia intend to hold onto the player, at least unless they get a really sizeable bid.

According to Calciomercato, the Premier League outfit proposed €10M, but the Aquilotti rebuffed them. The youngster himself has reservations about transferring. He wishes to feature regularly to have a shot at making the Poland squad for the World Cup. While he’s sure of that in Liguria, he wouldn’t have the same certainties in other teams.

West Ham came forward for Kiwior, while the interest from Milan is just preliminary at this point. The 22-year-old joined from Zilina for €2.2M last summer. He starred in 22 games in his first Serie A season. Thiago Motta leaned on him especially in the second half of the campaign, where he anchored the midfield.

Instead, new gaffer Luca Gotti deployed him in his original role as a center-back in the opener versus Empoli. Previous reports suggested that his move away was more likely in January than in the summer. The Rossoneri have a tight relationship with Spezia, having recently sent Mattia Caldara and Daniel Maldini on loan there.

Our Take on West Ham and Milan Eyeing Kiwior

The youngster has all the tools to succeed and become a high-profile player. He would be a very interesting purchase for the reigning champions, which have holes to plug in the defense and in the midfield. They would catch two birds with one stone since he would be able to cover both roles. He’s left-footed too, which they could use in the back.
