West Ham Trying to Hijack PSG Attempt for Sassuolo Star

While PSG has been chasing after Gianluca Scamacca for quite some time, they have not met the asking price, and West Ham have interjected the negotiation with a more sizeable bid. It has not been accepted by Sassuolo yet, but they are currently in the lead.

As per TuttoSport, the Irons have tendered €40M plus add-ons. The Neroverdi have not budged from their €50M request, but the two sides are relatively close. They might strike a deal by agreeing on how to structure the bonuses, making them easy to achieve. Instead, the French champions had proposed at most €35M.

Scamacca reportedly does not have a preference between West Ham and PSG, nor is he pushing to leave. He is attracted by the possibility of playing in the Premier League. Sassuolo already signed Uruguayan starlet Augustin Alvarez, but they will further add to their frontline thanks to the likely windfall. According to the publication, they have inquired about Mario Pasalic, but the deal is not easy. They probably will not have Hamed Traorè at the start of the season due to a foot fracture.

In addition, the Neroverdi have joined the busy race for Andrea Pinamonti, which currently involves mainly Monza and Atalanta, Calciomercato informs. He is one of their long-standing targets. They will have plenty to spend after cashing in on their center-forward.

Our Take on West Ham Pursuing Scamacca

It would be a less glitzy but perhaps a more technically advantageous landing spot for the striker, who would certainly have more playing time than in Paris. He is well-equipped for English football. The Emilian side is driving a hard bargain, which may signal that he is going to be their only sale up front. Everything has been pretty quiet on Domenico Berardi and Giacomo Raspadori lately.
