Nicolò Zaniolo is one step away from joining Galatasaray. The Turkish club and Roma are putting the finishing touches on the deal. Fenerbahce remained in the running until late in the game, but the starlet prefers the Cimbom, where he would find a few familiar faces.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Giallorossi will get around €20M, including add-ons, maybe slightly more after further bargaining. The attacker will ink a multi-year contract with €3.7M wages. He’ll have a €35M release clause that can be activated from next summer already. The capital side would get 10/15 of it, should he transfer. Milan were keen on him in January, but they didn’t have the budget to lure him.
Per Corriere dello Sport, the Galatasaray officials are in Milan to seal the Zaniolo deal and talk with the entourage of the player. The exit clause might be valid only for the Italian sides. The tragic earthquake in Turkey halted the negotiation for a few hours Monday, but it resumed in the evening.

The 23-year-old is ready to fly to Istanbul today if the parties finalized all agreements. The transfer window closes Wednesday for the Super Lig. He’ll play alongside former Serie A stars Mauro Icardi, Dries Mertens, and Lucas Torreira, barring a late U-turn. Inter will receive 15 percent of the fee.
Our Take on Zaniolo Joining Galatasaray
It’s a sound outcome for the forward, who avoids getting frozen out for four months and will play at a reasonably high level. Plus, he’ll have an easy way out, especially if he bounces back. Not so much for Roma, which will get significantly less than in normal circumstances.
