Inter ran off 4-1 winners against Lugano in their first pre-season friendly match, leaving coach Simone Inzaghi impressed by the performance. Danilo D’Ambrosio opened the scoring before Lautaro Martinez bagged a brace that was sandwiched with a Joaquin Correa strike.

Speaking to Inter TV (via FCInterNews) after the game at the Cornaredo stadium in Switzerland, Inzaghi revealed his delight with the attacking options he has at hand. The ex-Lazio manager confidently feels he could utilize an attacking trio, deviating from his traditional 3-5-2 formation.

“I’m lucky to have this team at my disposal. We have been working for just four days. As we saw in the second half, by changing the system, we continued to play well. We’re fortunate to several great forwards available at our disposal, so from time to time we could even play three at once. I am happy with our current frontline.”

At the moment, Inter have five pure strikers in the club’s ranks, with Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez, Joaquin Correa and Alexis Sanchez, all being re-joined by former teammate Romelu Lukaku. Moreover, there is a high chance that it will be six by the end of the transfer window, as Paulo Dybala remains a top target for the Nerazzurri.
