Inter are among the teams keeping tabs on Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg. He has recently been rumored to be on Tottenham and Milan’s radar. The Felsinei will soon have a key meeting with his agent, Calciomercato.com reports.
His representative Martin Dahlin will fly to Italy in the next few days. The starlet has only 18 months left on his contract. The Rossoblù have had trouble coming to terms for an extension so far. They would have to sell him in 2022 if the situation did not change. The upcoming summit will likely clarify their intentions.
The parties may agree to tack on one or two years, but also on his future price tag, the site adds. Milan inquired about Svanberg last summer, but Bologna held onto him by asking for €15M. The decision was supposed to be followed up with a new contract, but that has not happened.
Despite the interest, it is unlikely that the Emilian side will let him go in January already. They are already in trouble at the position since Jerdy Schouten has missed most of the season with a thigh injury. It could happen only if a mammoth offer blew them away. Only Tottenham and Manchester City might pull off such a move during the winter.
On top of the Bologna youngster, Inter have also been linked to Davide Frattesi as they might revamp their midfield next summer. Matias Vecino is on his way out, and they could part aways with Arturo Vidal too due to his lofty wages.
