Juventus Reach Agreement to Acquire Thuram from Nice

Juventus have successfully completed their relatively quick chase of Khephren Thuram, who will soon be in Turin to handle the formalities. He’ll be their second reinforcement in the midfield after Douglas Luiz, but the Old Lady won’t stop at two additions, TuttoSport informs.

The Bianconeri will pay €20M plus €5M add-ons. Part of the bonuses won’t be easy to activate. The French talent will sign a contract until 2029. The clubs are exchanging documents. He’ll make €2.5M annually at first.

Juventus bested Roma, Milan, and a few foreign signs to capture Thuram. Once they started targeting him, it became apparent that he wished to move to Serie A, as his father and his brother did. The Turin-based outfit took advantage of the fact that he had just a year on his deal with Nice and no intention of renewing it. The efforts to insert one outcast were rebuffed.

The 23-year-old is a product of the Monaco youth academy and transferred to Provence when he was 19. He earned a progressively bigger role and has accumulated 167 appearances, 9 goals, and 12 assists. He has one cap with France. He’s not participating in Euro 2024.

Our Take on Juventus and Thuram

The midfield has been a weak spot for a few years, and Cristiano Giuntoli noticed it as well in his first year with the team. They weren’t super cheap deals, but the disbursements for him and Douglas Luiz weren’t crazy either. It reportedly doesn’t, but this should spell the end of their attempts to retain Adrien Rabiot.
