Empoli Duo Impress Sarri in Thrilling Draw, Lazio Eye Transfers

Before Lazio fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat at the Giuseppe Meazza at the hands of Inter, the Biancocelesti encountered Empoli in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Stadio Olimpico. Claudio Lotito and company are said to have shortlisted two names from the Azzurri, in a bid to reinforce the capital club’s ranks in January.

One of the names is 22-year-old Empoli attacking midfielder Nedim Bajrami, according to transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio. The Albanian attacker opened the scoring against Lazio with a 6th minute penalty and has so far played an important role in his side’s rise up the Serie A ranks, sitting in 10th place with 28 points.

Lazio reportedly are aiming for his move next year in the summer transfer market, but will have to act quick as Sassuolo are also interested in his services. He has a contract valid until June 2024 with Empoli and his current transfermarkt value stands at €10m.

For strengthening the defense i.e. at the left-back position, it is Italian defender Fabio Parisi. According to reports from Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Maurizio Sarri was left impressed by the 21-year-old youngster’s performance against his side.

Of both the positions, it is highly likely a move for Parisi will materialize as the Biancocelesti’s main transfer liking for the left-back position – Emerson Palmieri – would have to wait until the end of the season for any deal to take place.
