Ahead of Roma’s highly anticipated Conference League Round of 16 fixture against Vitesse, the Giallorossi full-back Rick Karsdorp expressed in a press conference how he is enjoying life under Jose Mourinho at the helm of the club.
When asked about what it’s like working with the “Special One” on a weekly basis on the pitch, the Dutch full-back responded:
“I like working with him. I’m playing a lot, and he’s always asking a lot from us at Trigoria. The boss motivates you so much, and the last few games are proof of it. Given our defeat in the Coppa Italia we must have the ambition to win the Conference League,” said Karsdorp when asked about the club’s ambitions. “We work every day to make it to the top four and go as far as possible in this competition. Mourinho is the Special One on and off the pitch. He’s very demanding.”
In addition, the 27 year-old spoke briefly about his period of rough patches this season as a Giallorossi player: “I think it’s only human to have ups and downs, it happens to me: we’re just not used to playing with so much continuity.”
With Roma pulling off an incredible four-game unbeaten streak, Mourinho hopes his side can continue their fine run of form as they are set to face the Dutch giants in a difficult knockout-round fixture.
