Dybala Accepts Huge Contract Offered by Al-Qadsiah

After much deliberation, Paulo Dybala has agreed to the massive proposal coming from Al-Qadsiah. The deal has moved to the negotiation between clubs to decide the fee, which won’t be nearly as rich as the wages of player, Sky informs.

The Saudi club further touched up their contractual offer. La Joya will earn €75M in the next three years if the transfer goes through as expected. On the other hand, they have tendered just €3M to the Giallorossi. The sum is far below the Argentine’s previous €12M release clause.

The dialogue between Roma, Al-Qadsiah, and the Dybala camp will continue on Tuesday. It should be the key day to finalize La Joya’s departure from Italy.

The attacker has spent 12 consecutive seasons in Serie A. He joined Palermo for €12M when he was only 18 and moved to Juventus a few years later for €41M. The Giallorossi scooped him up on a free two summers ago after a bitter divorce with the Bianconeri. He has recorded 34 goals and 18 assists in 78 matches with them.

Our Take on Dybala, Roma, and Al-Qadsiah

The income for the team is ludicrous compared to the prospective salary, but it’s hard to imagine the brass will have the force to say no and keep him now that it backed itself into a corner. The team shouldn’t have authorized the negotiation in the first place and found a way to patch things up in early August when the situation still seemed salvageable. It’s still not entirely clear what started the snowball that led to this outcome.
