They probably would have landed either Riccardo Calafiori or more likely Jean-Clair Todibo since they would have cashed in €60M or so, but the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence, and they would have still needed another elite piece. Perhaps they wouldn’t have sold Dean Huijsen, who, despite his rawness, would have looked pretty good in Thiago Motta’s schemes, but they are certainly pleased with their calls for now.
