RB Leipzig Ace Mum on Milan Buzz, Talks Juventus Clash

Benjamin Sesko was a hot commodity during the summer and, among other high-profile suitors, he was linked to Milan after they missed out on Joshua Zirkzee and before they signed Alvaro Morata. However, he decided to stay and re-up his contract with RB Leipzig. He spoke with La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the Champions League game versus Juventus (via Calciomercato).

“I don’t comment on the transfer market rumors. I’m fine here, and that’s why I recently agreed to a new deal. I have important objectives to chase. The club wants to grow a lot, and I want to accompany it in this intriguing journey.”

Sesko previewed the clash with the Bianconeri.

“Every match provides motivation, but Juventus and Serie A teams in general are famous for their defensive solidity. They have been strong and impressive in that regard so far. However, we have a lot of quality and unpredictability up front. We know how to hurt the opponents. Italian football has always been one of the best ones in Europe. Their players have great international experience, so the matches against their teams will be particularly stimulating. However, we aim to do well.”

Sesko hailed the process in the Red Bull teams that helped him flourish.

“I have had the room to make mistakes here and at Salzburg. I joined them when I was 16, and it was an enormous step as a player and a man. It was my first time away from home, in a new country, culture, and language. I had to adapt in that respect and also football-wise, but it was a very important experience that prepared me ahead of my move to Leipzig.”
