Galatasaray Interested in Verona Keeper Lorenzo Montipò

While Hellas Verona is not enjoying a good start to the season, they could have reason to fear losing Lorenzo Montipò next summer. According to Calciomercato, Turkish side Galatasaray is interested in bringing in the Verona number one.

Current keeper and captain Fernando Muslera is likely to leave for MLS, requiring Gala to find a suitable replacement. While no official bids have been sent, there has already been contact between the two teams. As Montipò had a fantastic campaign in 2021-22, it will be more difficult for I Gialloblu to hold on to their goalkeeper.

It will be even more of a challenge for Verona to hold on to Montipò should they fall out of the Serie A. They are currently 18th after eight games, and could sack their coach depending on the weekend result.

This is Montipò’s second season with Verona since moving to the club from Benevento. He has not kept a clean sheet in 16 competitive games. His last one came at the expense of Genoa in April. With their opponents being fellow relegation contenders Salernitana, he has a chance to break that unwanted streak.
