Sevilla Set to Purchase Inter Youngster In €8m Deal

Perennial La Liga strugglers Sevilla are reportedly on the verge of re-signing forgotten Inter youngster Lucien Agoume. According to Spanish news outlet Estadio Deportivo, Los Rojiblancos will pour approximately €8 million into the Serie A champions’ bank accounts for 50% of Agoume’s rights.
If the talented midfielder lives up to expectations at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Sevilla will likely trigger a clause in their agreement with Inter. It would allow them to acquire a further 40% next summer for a figure close to €4m.
Agoume joined Inter from Sochaux as a teenager in 2019. However, he has never had a real opportunity to showcase his value at Giuseppe Meazza. After several low-profile loan spells at Spezia, Brest, and Troyes, the 22-year-old joined Sevilla last January.
Though he only made 12 La Liga appearances in the second half of last season, Agoume seemingly did enough to convince Sevilla to take up a buyout option. Inter won’t stand in the Frenchman’s way as they seek fresh funds to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s squad toward the end of the summer.
In addition to Agoume, Inter are close to offloading another highly-rated young talent. Valentin Carboni’s loan move to Olympique Marseille is a mere formality, with the two clubs working on the final details to arrange the Argentine’s switch to the Stade Velodrome.
Like in Agoume’s case, Marseille will have a buyout option. However, the Ligue 1 giants would have to pay Inter a mammoth €36m to secure Carboni’s permanent transfer next summer. Inzaghi’s men will receive only €1m for the forward’s temporary move to France.
