Milan Looking to Sign Porto Attacker Otavio on a Free Transfer

Milan are not focused only on their own contractual negotiations, as they made an offer for Otavio, whose deal with Porto is up in the summer. After seven years with the Dragoes, the 26-year-old attacker has decided to leave the club to play in one of the top five European League, Calciomercato.com reports.

The Rossoneri have kept tabs on him for months and proposed a four-year deal with €1.5M annual wages. The two sides are said to be close to reaching agreement as they are working on the final details and on the bonuses. The outlet indicates that the player has put on hold the talks with other clubs to give his priority to the Italian side. Sevilla were reportedly after him before they landed Papu Gomez in January

Otavio joined Porto from Internacional in 2014 and spent 18 months on loan at Vitorio Guimaraes before becoming a staple of the formation. He has accumulated 175 appearances, notching 19 goals and 45 assists over the last five seasons.

The midfielder showed his versatility also in the Champions League clash with Juventus, as he can feature on either flank and centrally. Besides his playmaking ability, as he has been able to provide double-digit assists in most of his campaigns in Portugal, he also impressed the scouts for his work rate in the defensive phase. Milan are also following Olympique Marseille’s Florian Thauvin for a potential Bosman move as they are looking to replenish their front-line for cheap.
