Hellas Verona Tactician Igor Tudor Expects ‘Super Difficult’ Inter

43-year-old Croatian coach Igor Tudor is eagerly anticipating his side’s clash against Inter at the Giuseppe Meazza on the weekend. Hellas Verona arrive on the back of a narrow 1-0 victory over Genoa, courtesy of Giovanni Simeone’s 5th minute strike. Inter on the other hand, will count their chances of closing in on league leaders Milan within one point, as they look to make the most of their extra game in hand.

Tudor believes Inter is as strong as teams come and playing at San Siro is as tough as it gets.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, the ex-Juventus assistant coach shed light on what he thinks will be blockbuster clash.

“It is one of the best matches. Playing at San Siro gives you great motivation. We will try to have a good match,” he said. (via FCInterNews)

Adding to his earlier comments, he reflected on how the Giuseppe Meazza is a ‘super’ difficult venue to play at.

He commented: “It will be super difficult, but also super beautiful. We will have to do things with great motivation, but without ‘obligations’: it’s all up to them, but this does not mean that we will not give a hundred percent.”

Tudor was Andrea Pirlo’s assistant manager at the Bianconeri, before the duo were sacked at the end of the 2020/21 season following Inter’s Scudetto win under Antonio Conte.

When quizzed about Inter’s morale-boosting 1-0 triumph at Allianz Stadium last week, the Croat was quick to point out that the best team doesn’t always win.

“Yes, I’ve seen the match. Juve did a bit more, but whoever did the best doesn’t always win. Inter is a serious team, full of strong players. It will be difficult,” he finished.

The Gialloblu have not mustered a win against the Nerazzurri in the top-flight for three decades, having last won against them in a 1-0 victory at the Bentegodi in February 1992.

Meanwhile, Inter will be looking to secure a second straight league win for the first time in 2022.
