Cesare Prandelli Urges Juventus Striker to ‘Stay Calm’ Amid Form Woes

Former Fiorentina head coach Cesare Prandelli has offered under-fire Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic a piece of advice regarding his current form woes. The Serbia international left Artemio Franchi to link up with the record-time Italian champions in the January transfer window in a mega-money deal worth €70m.

Following a blistering start to his new adventure in Turin, Vlahovic has suffered a dip in form. The 22-year-old is currently experiencing a three-game drought in Serie A. In addition to his recent drop-off, the Serb has already picked up a reputation as a ‘diver.’

Prandelli, who gave Vlahovic a starting berth at Fiorentina before resigning as Viola coach in March 2021, boasts fond memories of the duo’s enjoyable time in Florence. The highly-rated striker enjoyed a rise to prominence at Artemio Franchi, but something has gone wrong at Juventus.

Prandelli tried to defend his ex-pupil’s struggle at the Allianz Stadium, though he insisted Vlahovic cannot solve Juventus’ problems on his own.

As soon as he arrived at Juventus in the January market, he inevitably felt a great responsibility because so much was expected of him,” he said, as relayed by TUTTOmercatoWEB.

And paradoxically, the fact that he started at the top, scoring a lot right away, put him in a condition where people were led to think that he could solve Juventus’ problems all by himself, right away.

Prandelli also urged the Juventus No7 to keep a cool head and wait for his moment to shine again.

The only advice I can give him is to stay calm, also because he is a real champion, so he will score a lot of goals.
