West Ham Run Interference on Napoli and Inter Targets

West Ham have laid their eyes on Keylor Navas and Francesco Acerbi, posing a serious threat especially to Napoli, which have been in talks to add the goalie. Instead, the Lazio outcast doesn’t seem too keen on leaving Serie A. He’s waiting for Inter, but they have different priorities.

According to La Repubblica, the Premier League outfit is ready to offer bigger wages than the Azzurri to the Costa Rican star. The shot-stopper has reportedly signed off on moving to Serie A. However, his €9M salary is vastly superior to any other player on the Partenopei‘s roster. They are working on a solution with PSG, but it could take time.

West Ham might be able to act more quickly for Navas, while their attempt for Acerbi will likely go down to the wire. As per Team Talk, they are negotiating the acquisition of Thilo Kehrer, and the conversations expanded to the veteran. It remains to be whether he will indeed accept the transfer since they don’t play in the Champions League, though.

According to SportMediaset, the Lazio center-back is biding time because he wishes to reunite with Simone Inzaghi in Milan. He has turned down a switch to Monza and repelled the Irons’ initial inquiry. But that may change down the line.

Our Take on West Ham Targeting Navas and Acerbi

They have surely been heavily embroiled in Serie A matters in the summer window. It would be a big blow for Napoli if they couldn’t land the PSG goalie, who’s by far the best option for the role. Instead, it would be a pretty nice landing spot for the Biancocelesti pariah since it’s not a given that Inter will indeed sign him.
