Barcelona Eye Milan Duo to Succeed Veteran Busquets

Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets might be playing his final season with his boyhood club. The 34-year-old Spaniard has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou, with reports suggesting that he wishes to experience a new challenge in his career going forward. The Spaniards might just source his successor from Serie A – from Milan in particular.

Busquets has reportedly already communicated his intention to leave to the management. Coach Xavi Hernandez on the other hand, is eager to keep hold of his ex-teammate, who sees his contract at the Blaugrana expire at the end of the season.

As per Spanish outlet Sport, two Milan midfielders are on the radar of Barcelona to succeed the highly-decorated La Masia youth product. They are Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali – two highly important midfield pins for Stefano Pioli.

The Rossoneri duo are two of twelve names shortlisted, with Rodri, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa being some of the few others. Busquets is reportedly interested in a switch to Major League Soccer, with David Beckham’s Inter Miami the likeliest of destinations for his future.
