Fiorentina and Milan have received strong reports from their scouts about Boca Juniors midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez. The Viola could be particularly keen since they have several moving pieces at the position. Arthur has had a bounce-back season with them while on loan from Juventus, but he’s unlikely to stay permanently, Calciomercato relays.
The 21-year-old has turned heads primarily for his stamina and vision. He earned a regular role with Los Xeneizes following a loan spell at Tigre. He has amassed 49 appearances, assisting twice. The youngster is an integral part of Argentina U-23.
Fernandez has a strong bond with Boca Juniors and wouldn’t mind spending another season at the club, but the pull of important clubs like Milan and Fiorentina could make him change his mind.
The Rossoneri have also been linked to another young Argentine in the same role, Federico Redondo, but Inter Miami signed him from Argentinos Juniors for €7.45M in late February.

The Viola have a clear Argentinian connection and will need multiple pieces at the position. In addition to the uncertainty tied to Arthur, who won’t be easy to retain given his salary, Alfred Duncan has an expiring contract and Maxime Lopez is on loan. He likely hasn’t done enough to stay.
The Rossoneri’s midfield has been working well, but it is also paper thin, so one or two more pieces wouldn’t hurt. They have the horses to bring in a prospect who could need some time.
