Inter Set Sights on Barcelona and Talleres Prodigies

Coach Simone Inzaghi made it clear that he expects the brass to bring in a new defender before deadline day. The Inter management have laid eyes on two more talents, Tomas Palacios and Mikayil Faye, since the other ones they are tracking are all quite pricey, Sky reports.

The former stars for Independiente Rivadavia, but his card belongs to Talleres. He has become a regular in the last two campaigns and has made 24 appearances in various domestic competitions. He has played three times with Argentina U-20.

Both Palacios and Faye are left-footed, which is what Inter are looking for since the newcomer would deputize Alessandro Bastoni. The 20-year-old Senegalese talent joined Barcelona from NK Kustosija for €1.5M in July 2023. He played with their second team last season, scoring 4 times in 33 games. He has already debuted with Senegal.

The boss talked to the publication on Tuesday.

“We are one defender short due to Tajon Buchanan’s injury. We’re talking about it with the officials. I am lucky to have a strong front office supporting me. The new owners are very ambitious. The market is open until the end of the month.”

Our Take on Inter, Palacio, and Faye

The budget for such an acquisition hasn’t been fully disclosed, and it might depend on the sale of more fringe players, but the latest targets might be a little more up their alley financially speaking than the previous ones.
