Juventus Kick the Tires on Prolific Sporting CP Winger

Juventus are patiently waiting for the Nico Gonzalez domino to take shape, but they are starting to evaluate other right wingers, for instance, Francisco Conceiçao and Marcus Edwards. Their opening offer for the latter was turned down by Porto. The Sporting CP attacker wouldn’t be much more affordable, A Bola relays (via Tuttomercatoweb).

The 25-year-old might indeed leave Portugal. Though, he has a few suitors, which fuels his team’s demands. It’ll consider offers near or above €25M. He joined in a €7.75M move from Vitoria Guimaraes in January 2022. He has racked up 112 appearances, 21 goals, and 26 assists since.

Juventus face competition from Crystal Palace and especially Al-Nassr for Edwards. The former tendered €15M and were rebuffed. He doesn’t seem too keen on transferring to Saudi Arabia and would like to return to his home country if he had the chance to do so. He’s a Tottenham product and left them in 2019 in a Bosman move after not shining in his first few loan spells away from the team.

According to TuttoSport, Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso is opposing the sale of another star to the Bianconeri. However, his execs have come to terms on a €30M deal. It requires the acquisition of Albert Gudmundsson to be unlocked.

Our Take on Juventus and Edwards

Not all the options they are pursuing are super convincing, and it shouldn’t be just a matter of price tags and formulas. To be whole, they need a stud on the right wing and a fine backup/super-sub on the other one.
