Inter Met with Large Request for Barcelona Defender

Inter are indeed keen on the two latest young defenders to land in their crosshairs, Mika Faye and Tomas Palacios. However, it’s a lot easier to snap up the Argentine due to Barcelona’s sizeable demands.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Blaugrana believe in the 20-year-old and would sell him only for €15M or so. Instead, the Talleres center-back is worth roughly €5M.

Inter have to tussle for a few sides for Faye, while for Palacios there’s the obstacle of an option to buy in favor of the team where he’s playing on loan, Independiente Rivadavia. Per TuttoSport (via OneFootball), Porto and Rennes are after the Barcelona prodigy and offered €10M. Real Betis and Real Sociedad have taken an interest too.

The Nerazzurri informed the counterparty that they could meet the request but only if the disbursement was in 2025. Therefore, they want to do the deal on loan with a mandatory option to buy. It remains to be seen whether the Spanish team would agree to that.

Inter might have to spend more than they’d like to onboard Faye and also need to clear some hurdles for Palacios, Sportitalia relays. RB Leipzig are eyeing him to. They’d send him to one of their affiliates at first. Independiente Rivadavia are scheduled to have him on loan till December and might oppose his immediate transfer also because of their clause to sign him permanently. The Scudetto holders haven’t tabled an offer but received rave reviews about the budding center-back.
