Genoa Set to Sign Juventus Midfielder on Dry Loan

Juventus and Genoa are close to finalizing an agreement for talented midfielder Fabio Miretti to spend this season on loan at Marassi. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian youngster will undergo medical at Stadio Luigi Ferraris later today.
Miretti will join Genoa on loan without a buyout clause. The two clubs found a breakthrough on Friday afternoon, shaking hands on a dry loan deal. Miretti’s exit should make room for Teun Koopmeiners. The Dutch star is one step away from swapping Atalanta for Juventus.
Though Miretti should sign the papers before Genoa’s Serie A encounter against Monza on Saturday, he’ll watch the game from the stands. However, the 21-year-old should at least have a chance to play regularly. That wouldn’t have been the case had he stayed at Juventus.
Indeed, Miretti has tumbled down the pecking order after Thiago Motta’s arrival. He featured for Juventus 28 times last season under Massimiliano Allegri, amassing two goals and two assists. Unfortunately, the managerial shift hasn’t worked in his favor.
Neither have two crucial midfield signings in Turin this summer. Juventus have landed Douglas Luiz and Khephren Thuram. On top of that, they’re moving full steam ahead in their quest to take Koopmeiners to the Allianz Stadium.
It’s only a matter of time before the Europa League winner becomes a new Juventus player. As for Miretti, he’ll join forces with Alberto Gilaridno’s side, which held reigning Scudetto holders Inter to a dramatic 1-1 draw on the opening weekend.
