Juventus have finally made Atalanta cave for Teun Koopmeiners in the latest round of talks between the respective officials. La Dea has been trying to hold onto their star throughout the summer, but he did everything in his power to force his way out. He’ll have the medicals on Wednesday.
According to Sky, the Bergamaschi have accepted a €52M offer plus €6M add-ons. They had refused to engage in the negotiation in previous months as the bids were inferior and because they believed the Bianconeri didn’t behave correctly.
Koopmeiners has been adamant about joining Juventus and turned down every other destination. The maestro started setting the stage for his departure back in March. The Dutchman will be the third high-profile addition to the Old Lady’s midfield after Khephren Thuram and Douglas Luiz. Unlike what happened in the defense, Cristiano Giuntoli landed all his primary targets in this role.

The Orobici’s stance was fair as they were probably hoping to mount a serious Scudetto bid by not selling any ace; unfortunately, that didn’t match the players’ intentions; plus, those aspirations have to be accompanied by new contracts and increased wages. They’ll enter a new era once they do that, and perhaps they’ll manage with Ademola Lookman. As for the Bianconeri, they had to pay a steep price, but snapping him up had become a matter of pride and resolve at this point.
