Romanian midfielder Alexandru Cicaldau has been on many clubs’ radar recently. After his transfer from Craiova to Galatasaray last summer, the Romania international was reportedly approached by Atalanta and Sampdoria in Serie A.
Cicaldau has been having an excellent season with Galatasaray so far, scoring 2 goals in 10 games. Endowed with great vision of the game and passing skills, he has been compared to Marco Verratti in terms of characteristics.
Speaking of a possible transfer of his client to Sampdoria, agent Victor Becali, a leading figure of the Romanian market, reported to local newspaper ProSport:
“First of all, Sampdoria must save themselves and stay in Serie A. They also have some big financial problems right now. I heard about a 10 million euro offer but, as things stand, it is not certain that Galatasaray will accept it. Of course, I can say that they are interested, maybe they are thinking of a loan with an option or an obligation to buy and this should not be ruled out. On the contrary, it is a possibility.“
