Atalanta Marksman Zapata Returns to Training with First Team

With Atalanta preparing for a significant test this week as they are set to face Lazio in match-week eleven of the Serie A, the Colombian marksman Duvan Zapata has returned to training with the first team ahead of the vital fixture.

Since the clinical goal-scorer was forced off the pitch due to a thigh injury during La Dea’s 3-1 victory of Torino, the 31 year-old has missed a total of six Serie A fixtures as he held towards the sidelines for a prolonged period of time.

However, Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini is relieved to see his star striker recovering well from his sustained injury with many significant fixtures approaching at fast pace prior to the World Cup.

According to reports from Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Zapata took part in Atalanta’s training session earlier today in preparation for their match against the Biancocelesti at the Gewiss Stadium on the weekend.

With the talisman on the verge of in taking part of the first team very imminently, Gasperini hopes that Zapata’s return to the front-line can extend their fine run of form after being unbeaten within their first ten outings this season.
