Paulo Dybala has suffered from the lack of consistency at Roma this campaign due to a collateral ligament injury but nonetheless remains an integral piece of José Mourinho’s setup.
Dybala shared insights into his relationship with Mourinho and the Special One’s apparent ‘love’ towards Argentines in an exclusive interview with Argentine journalist Gaston Edul on YouTube (via VoceGiallorossa).
“When the match against France ended, I was in the room to do the anti-doping, I go to the dressing room, I pick up the phone to talk to my family and I see five missed calls from Mou. I think I called him before my mother. He was very happy because he loves Argentines. He always tells me wonderful things about Angel Di María and Lionel Messi too, he loves them very much. All the Argentinians have given him something more in their teams and he speaks very highly of everyone. He has great affection for everyone.”
La Joya also spoke of his injury problems that have restricted him to just eight appearances this season.
“I had a collateral injury that caused me a little of pain. But I managed to recover quickly, I felt very good in the match (against Lecce). I had a similar problem when I was at Juve, I injured my collateral and had the same pain. After the match there were also the national team call-ups and that’s the first thing I thought about. Then with treatments and specific work I recovered quickly, in 20 days, as the doctors told.”
Dybala revealed the emotions behind winning the World Cup.
“It’s impossible not to feel emotional, everyone was asking us for photos, videos, a memory. It is something that will remain forever, for a lifetime. In your career you can win many trophies but nothing is like the World Cup.”
