Inter Boss Inzaghi Refuses to Concede Defeat in Scudetto Race

Simone Inzaghi insists Inter will ‘try until the end’ to pip bitter rivals Milan to their second successive Serie A title. Second-choice shot-stopper Ionut Radu made an epic blunder as the Nerazzurri lost 2-1 at Bologna in midweek league action, sliding two points below the leaders Rossoneri

With four matches left to go, Inter have plenty of time to overturn a two-point deficit. However, the team’s spirit must be shattered following Radu’s inexplicable mistake at Dall’Ara last time out that gifted mid-table Bologna a futile triumph.

Samir Handanovic seems to be dealing with an injury setback, meaning Radu could make another start against Udinese on Sunday. Though the Romanian’s giveaway could have direct implications in the Scudetto run-in, Inzaghi may have to place him between the sticks again.

Handanovic has an issue, he worked separately in training today. There is some hope he could play tomorrow, otherwise, we have Radu and Alex Cordaz ready,” he said, as relayed by Gianluca Di Marzio

Before losing at Bologna, Inter had won four consecutive Serie A games, including two on the road against Juventus and Spezia. They will need to rejuvenate that form at the Dacia Arena, as Udinese are not messing around.

Gabriele Cioffi’s side dismantled Fiorentina 4-0 at Artemio Franchi last weekend, putting an exciting, modern-day football on full display. Since Udinese have nothing to lose yet all to gain, the Friulani could prove a stern test for Inter.

But Inzaghi expects his men to shrug off midweek disappointment and bounce back in Udine.

The mood after the Bologna game wasn’t the best, it was very disappointing, but I’ve seen a strong team spirit over the last few days,” he continued.

Every game is difficult, this side will try until the end. We’ll take it one game at a time, in Serie A and the Coppa Italia Final, and hope to give the fans more joy after winning the Supercoppa.
