Inter are hesitant to let star defender Milan Skriniar leave despite PSG submitting a renewed bid of €60M, still way off the €80M mark set.

Inter Defender Completes Major Turnaround and Sets to Break Record

After being on the brink of exiting the club last summer, Milan Skriniar earned his way back to the starting lineup at Inter, reclaiming his role as a true pillar for the team.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport writes, the defender sat on the bench during the final of the Europa League last season, sadly watching his teammates losing against Sevilla.

Nonetheless, slowly by surely, the Slovakian convinced his coach Antonio Conte of his abilities, and has been deployed on the right side of the defensive trio throughout the season.

Alongside Ivan Perisic and Christian Eriksen, the former Sampdoria man is one of the players that has been rediscovered by the manager, and played a major role in the team’s successful domestic campaign.

As Inter prepare to travel for their encounter against Crotone this weekend – with the opportunity of sealing the Scudetto title on the line – Skriniar is set to reach a landmark.

The Slovakia international is expected to start a match for the 33rd time in a row in all competitions, an incredible number considering the overpacked schedule that the players had to endure this season.

The pink newspaper notes that the Nerazzurri defender has played as starter in every single match for his club since November 24 of last year.

Whilst Skriniar sets the record for Serie A players with 33 starts in a row, his teammate Alessandro Bastoni is right behind at 29, alongside Lazio star Sergey Milinkovic-Savic, with Francesco Acerbi at 28.

Moreover, the ever-present defender helped his team in earning 10 clean sheets in 2021, with only Chelsea being ahead with 11 amongst the clubs playing in the top European leagues.

So as the Beneamata prepare to lift their first league title in eleven years, much credit should be given for the men at the back, including Milan Skriniar.
