“The Lads Were Fantastic”- Inzaghi Hails Inter Following Spezia Win

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi heaped praise on his players for their performance against Spezia yesterday.

The Nerazzurri put in a dominant performance against Thiago Motta’s side and won 2-0 courtesy of goals from Roberto Gagliardini and Lautaro Martinez. They could have scored a lot more than they did but eventually claimed all three points.

After the match, Inzaghi told Inter’s official website: “It was an important game and one we needed to get right from the start. The lads were fantastic today. They got their approach spot on. I’m very happy with them.

“We can be proud of the fact we’ve kept another clean sheet. We stayed alert and stuck together despite being up against a team that sat back snd looked to hit us on the break. We were missing a few players tonight but I’m really pleased with the way we played. We haven’t done anything yet though and we have another very tough game to play on Saturday.”

Inter remain third in the Serie A table but they are just two points behind leaders Napoli, who drew to Sassuolo yesterday. The Nerazzurri now face a tough test as they take on Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend.
