Jose Mourinho’s Roma squeezed a point off Napoli in their highly-entertaining clash at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Monday evening. They trail fourth-placed Juventus by five points as they final five games of the season looms ahead, and coach Mourinho believes the Bianconeri are well-off in their position behind the top three.
Speaking to DAZN after his side’s remarkable draw in Naples, the Special One admitted that it will be difficult to catch Juventus’ advances as the business end of the campaign comes to a close.
“Juventus are too strong to leave their position, we play for places from fifth to eighth and today we needed points,” he said in his post-match press conference (via TuttoJuve)
Any slip-up by Juventus is bound to warrant a Roma comeback into the top four spots and a direct entry into the Champions League, keeping in mind the Giallorossi’s impressive run of form since the start of the year.
Roma are closely trailed by Fiorentina and Lazio, who are both two points behind them in the Serie A table.
