Juventus Defender Daniele Rugani Delivers Contract Update

Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has admitted his agents are negotiating a renewal of his expiring contract in Turin. In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport after helping Bianconeri to a 2-1 home win over Cagliari, the 29-year-old delivered a promising update regarding his potential stay.

Rugani’s contract at Juventus runs out at the end of the season. However, there’s a mutual desire to continue together, as confirmed by the player.

We have spoken with the club. Me, my agent, and the club are on good terms. There is mutual respect, so I am sure we’ll find a solution,” the Juventus center-back said.

Rugani was on the scoresheet Saturday night as Juventus squeezed past Cagliari to overtake Inter at the top of the Serie A table. But Simone Inzaghi’s men can still spend the upcoming international break at the summit, provided they can beat Frosinone at home tonight.

Regardless of the outcome of that contest, the forthcoming Derby d’Italia, which falls on November 26, will potentially have a decisive bearing on the Scudetto race. Juventus will have a fortnight to rest and prepare before hosting that mouth-watering showdown.

Now, we must recover during the break and focus on this big game, the first one of many, but it’s Juve-Inter, so it will be worth even more,” Rugani commented.

Rugani is part of the reason Juventus are back in the Scudetto frame. He and his colleagues have forged a formidable defensive unit that has leaked just one goal in the last seven matches.
