Juventus Eye Sassuolo’s Rossi to Succeed Under Fire Cherubini

Sassuolo’s Giovanni Rossi is a major contender to take over the sporting director role at Juventus. After a major earthquake that shook not only Serie A but also European football in general, the club are eager to get back on track ahead of the second half of the season. The whole Bianconeri board, along with chief Andrea Agnelli parted ways last month following the revelation of financial irregularities at the club.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are trying to source former director of youth department Giovanni Rossi from Sassuolo. Rossi currently heads the Emilia-Romagna club in the role of a sporting director – currently in his fourth year running.

He has experienced much success at Sassuolo and is contracted with them until the end of the season. The Bianconeri want to take advantage of this situation and bring him back to Turin, where he spent three years overseeing proceedings of the various youth teams. Rossi would eventually succeed under-inspection executive Federico Cherubini.

Giovanni Rossi is reportedly tied to Massimiliano Allegri via a well-established relationship, first as teammates and then as manager-coach at Serie D outfit Aglianese – Allegri’s first-ever managerial role in the 2003/04 season.
