Juventus have reportedly launched talks with Samuel Mbangula’s representatives over a long-term contract renewal. According to Calciomercato, the Turin heavyweights are hellbent on extending the Next Gen graduate’s deal at the Allianz Stadium.
Mbangula delivered headline-grabbing performances in the opening two Serie A rounds of 2024/25. The versatile forward scored on his senior debut for Juventus to inspire Thiago Motta’s side to an overwhelming 3-0 home victory against newcomers Como in the curtain-raising fixture.
It looks like Juventus are determined to reward their breakout star with a bumper new deal. Mbangula earns a measly €100,000 per season on his Next Gen contract. But, the record-time Italian champions have recognized his talent and want to protect him from potential suitors.
As such, a significant wage increase is in store. Motta has promoted the 20-year-old from the youth academy. It’s been a resounding success. Mbangula has dazzled during his early Serie A days, suggesting Juventus can rely on him despite making several high-profile attacking purchases.
Nicolas Gonzalez is among the club’s elite summer signings. However, Juventus chiefs are in panic after the former Fiorentina winger withdrew from the Argentina national team due to injury. They’re anxiously awaiting test results to understand to gravity of the situation.
Gonzalez made his Juventus debut last weekend, entering the fray late as Roma held the Bianconeri to a tepid 0-0 draw in Turin. He replaced Dusan Vlahovic toward the end of the game but couldn’t make the difference.
