At the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Juventus hosted Torino for what turned out to be one of the most entertaining versions of the Derby della Molle in recent memory. Yann Karamoh gave the visitors a shocking lead in the second minute, but Juan Cuadrado consolidated his status as the Granata’s ultimate bogeyman by snatching the equalizer. The crosstown rivals then traded blows before the halftime break, with Danilo replying to Antonio Sanabria. But in the second period, it has the hosts who asserted their authority, with Gleison Bremer scoring against his former employers and Adrien Rabiot confirming the win. So here are our player ratings for Juventus who rallied to overturn the result and beat Torino in a thrilling affair that ended 4-2.
Juventus (3-5-1-1)
Wojciech Szczesny – 6
The Pole could do little about Karamoh’s early opener. He made a great save on Sanabria’s header, but the Paraguayan then beat him with a tricky low drive at his near post.
Danilo – 7.5
The stand-in captain initially struggled against Karamoh but eventually grew with the match and had the best out of his opponents, forcing Ivan Juric to scramble with his changes. Nodded home the crucial equalizer with a towering header.
Gleison Bremer – 7
The former Torino defender lost track of Sanabria on Torino’s second goal but atoned himself by delivering the all-important third Juventus goal.
Alex Sandro – 6.5
A confident display from the Brazilian but did well to limit the threat of Aleksei Miranchuk and Wilfried Singo. However, a poor pass in the second half almost gifted the Granata the lead.
Juan Cuadrado – 6.5
The Colombian once again delivered the goods against Torino, scoring the initial equalizer for the Bianconeri with a powerful deflected shot. But his impact decreased in the second half.
Nicolò Fagioli – 7
Another fine showing from the young midfielder who connected well with his teammates. Put Vlahovic through on goal with a clever pass.
Enzo Barrenechea – 6.5
A composed display from the young Argentine on his full Juventus debut. Showcased his immense tackling credentials and didn’t embarrass himself on the ball.
Adrien Rabiot – 6.5
It was a quiet evening for the Frenchman but he eventually found himself in the right place to poach his side’s fourth goal.
Filip Kostic – 7.5
Although the stats show a lone assist for the Serbian, he arguably deserved significantly more. Produced a plethora of crosses from the left flank, including the freekick that culminated in Rabiot’s goal.
Angel Di Maria – 6
An underwhelming evening for the former PSG man based on his own high standards. Yet, he still got an assist to his name by delivering a sublime corner kick that prompted Danilo’s goal
Dusan Vlahovic – 6
A decent performance from the Serbian who was unlucky to see his shot crash against the woodwork. Nonetheless, he linked up well with his teammates, especially Kostic and Fagioli.
Substitutes
Federico Chiesa – 7
A superb cameo from the Italian who provided the assist for Bremer’s header almost immediately. He was heading towards the goal himself in the final minutes if it wasn’t for Samuele Ricci’s nasty challenge.
Mattia De Sciglio – 5.5
The fullback hardly made himself noticed after replacing Cuadrado.
Paul Pogba – 6.5
The returning Frenchman is the toast of the town at Juventus. Displayed flashes of brilliance and threatened to score.
Moise Kean – N/A
Leonardo Bonucci – N/A
