Milan Enroute to Signing First Ever Austrian Rossoneri?

Milan are in the midst of negotiations for three players in Yacine Adli, Alessandro Florenzi and Tiemoue Bakayoko, as reported earlier. Another one has been added in the mix by the Rossoneri as they are actively targeting versatile Austrian midfielder Florian Grillitsch.

According to Austrian outlet Kurier, Milan have reportedly made a concrete offer to sign the midfielder, who can also operate as a centre-back, from Hoffenheim. The 26-year-old has been part of the German club since the 2017/18 season and his contract with them expires in June 2022.

With a market value of €18m, according to transfermarkt, a move for Grillitsch will be accepted by Die Kraichgauer anywhere in the region of €10-15m. There have no talks of a contract renewal for him.

Kicker reported earlier last week that the Austrian midfielder is ‘very popular’ with Paolo Maldini and the Rossoneri management. If he manages to secure a move to Milan, Grillitsch will become the first Austrian ever to play in the Red & Black colours.

He has made a total of 133 appearances for Hoffenheim so far.
