Olympique Lyonnais talent Houssem Aouar has been linked to a host of clubs since his emergence on the big stage a few years ago, but has so far chosen to stay put at his boyhood club. He will turn into a free agent at the end of the current season, and this has put several top clubs on high alert, including the reigning Scudetto champions.
As per Footmercato, Milan have concrete interest in signing the 24-year-old playmaker next summer on a free transfer. Stefano Pioli and the Rossoneri upper management have reportedly been ‘seduced’ by the profile of Aouar.
The attacking midfielder will be free to negotiate with a club of his choice from the new year i.e. six months before his contract expires – in order to jot down a pre-contract agreement ahead of a potential move.
Aouar is on the sights of several big clubs from across Europe, including Napoli, Real Betis, Sevilla, Real Sociedad, and Roma, but it is Milan who are the biggest of them all in the transfer race.
He desires to play regular European football, and with Milan’s resurgence on the continental front, one can expect the player and the Rossoneri to make contact in the next couple of months.
