Napoli to Tussle Inter for Versatile Sassuolo Midfield Talisman

Sassuolo midfield talisman Davide Frattesi is garnering attention from all over Europe, let alone Italy, for his stupendous displays in the Neroverdi colors. However, it is another Italian giant who have registered their interest in the 22-year-old central midfielder.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have joined the race for the signature of Frattesi but it is Inter who remain in pole position for his services. The Partenopei face an uncertain situation with Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who is being linked heavily with a move to the Premier League with Manchester United, and Frattesi is being eyed as a direct replacement.

Inter on the other hand, are preparing to lose Matias Vecino and Arturo Vidal at the end of the season, and a need of a central figure in the park is echoing loudly in Simone Inzaghi’ ranks.

The Lazio and Roma youth product has a transfermarkt value of €15m, with his contract with Sassuolo expiring only in June 2025.

This is his first full breakthrough season in Serie A and he has already impressed more than most with his consistent displays. The versatile midfielder has 4 goals and 2 assists in 23 appearances for the Neroverdi this campaign across all competitions.
