Porto Marksman Sits Atop of Milan Offensive Wish List

Milan have tabled an offer to sign Mehdi Taremi from Porto. It was turned down, but the Iranian has emerged as the frontrunner to lead their frontline along with Olivier Giroud. He scored 31 goals in 51 appearances in the past season.

According to SportMediaset, the Rossoneri tendered €13M, while the Portuguese demanded €20/25M to part ways with the prolific striker. However, his contract is up in 2024, and he’s highly unlikely to extend it.

If Milan managed to come to terms for Taremi, it would preclude them from signing another extra-EU player like Samuel Chukwueze and Daichi Kamada. The veteran has an agreement in principle with the Italian side and would earn €3M for the next three years. Agent Jorge Mendes is tending to the negotiation.

Per TuttoSport, the Rossoneri might ultimately seal the deal if they raised their bid to €20M. They have zeroed in on him especially for his skillset. He combines well with his teammates on top of scoring in spades.

Our Take on Milan and Taremi

The talks have gained traction, and all will come down to the fee, as they will be reluctant to overspend. The only reservation is tied to his age, as there are no doubts about his quality and the fit.
