Roma Ace Hints At Potential Premier League Return

Tammy Abraham has thrown his long-term future at Roma into doubt after dropping a hint at a possible return to the Premier League. In an interview with TalkSPORT, the 24-year-old striker admitted he would like to ‘make noise’ in the English top-flight once again.

After tumbling down the pecking order at Chelsea, Abraham joined Jose Mourinho-managed Roma last summer for a reported fee of £34m, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract. The Englishman had enjoyed a couple of stellar seasons at Stamford Bridge before Thomas Tuchel arrived at the helm in January 2021.

Desperate to get his career back on track, Abraham moved to Roma before the start of the season, and it turned out to be a wise decision. He has gone from strength to strength under Mourinho’s stewardship in Italy’s capital this season, establishing himself as one of the deadliest strikers in Serie A.

Abraham has soaked up the limelight as the most prolific player at the Stadio Olimpico, tallying a whopping 23 goals and four assists from 41 competitive appearances. Despite earning a household status at Roma, the Englishman harbours hidden ambitions to return to the Premier League some day.

For me, I’ve always been a player growing up, watching the Premier League and watching football. When I heard about different teams and certain players I always thought: Wow I want that to be me one day.

Who knows what the future holds. Of course, I grew up in England and I’m a London boy so maybe one day I will be back in the Premier League to make noise there. But, for me right now, it’s about focusing in Rome.
