Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto and coach Jose Mourinho are active this winter market, looking to boost their squad across all fronts. A new name has emerged as a prospective transfer target for the Giallorossi.
As per reports relayed by TUTTOmercatoweb, Levante forward Jorge De Frutos is on the tabs of the capital club for a potential January onboarding. The silky winger, who once played for the Real Madrid reserve team, is known for his versatility of being able to function in various roles in the final third – including the ability to play as an inverted winger.
The 24-year-old is an integral part of Italian coach Alessandro Lisci‘s relegation-bound outfit. He is an unexpected name to pop on the transfer wish list of not only Roma, but also Hellas Verona, who are also looking for reinforcements in attack.
Igor Tudor’s side would reportedly provide a better and regular platform for De Frutos, who is likely to be rotated on an occasional basis at Roma.
De Frutos has a transfermarkt value of €12m and is an affordable prospect in books of any Italian club, let alone Roma or Verona. His contract with the Spanish club expire sin June 2025.
With less than two weeks remaining, it is yet to be seen whether Mourinho or Tudor make the first move for the Levante star.
