Legendary Milan tactician Arrigo Sacchi has warned Milan not to take their next three final games lightly as the Serie A campaign draws to a close. Milan are two points ahead of Inter, and in the run for their first league title in over a decade as they seek to end the Nerazzurri’s hopes for a second straight Scudetti.
The Rossoneri take on Hellas Verona first at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, before hosting Atalanta at home. They finally finish off the season at Sassuolo, where they would have the chance to lift the coveted trophy if things sail smoothly over due course.
Speaking of Milan’s upcoming fixtures, Sacchi is wary of the threat posed by the first two of the three fixtures.
“Verona, Atalanta and Sassuolo are left. The first two take away your initiative, they try to make you play at a pace and speed you’re not used to. Milan will have to overcome them,” he said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it).
Sassuolo’s recent downturn of form, especially after their 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Napoli, arrives as good news for Milan.
Inter on the other hand face Empoli first at Giuseppe Meazza, before traveling south to Siciliy to play relegation-contenders Cagliari. The Nerazzurri finish their season off at home to Sampdoria.
