Serie A Final Weekend Preview: Milan, Roma, Juventus & Como Fight for Europe’s Biggest Prize

The 2025/26 Serie A top-four race will go down to the wire, with four teams vying for the two remaining Champions League qualification spots heading into the final weekend. Milan, Roma, Como, and Juventus remain deeply embroiled in a nerve-shredding battle for the privilege of dining at Europe’s top table next season.

With Inter securing their 21st Scudetto with a few games to spare and Napoli locking down a Champions League berth last week, all attention has now shifted to the chaotic race unfolding just beneath them. Roma and Milan are in a prime position to book their tickets to Europe’s most prestigious club competition, but they cannot afford to take anything for granted.

Even leading bookmakers back them to edge out Juventus and Como in the race for the top four, with numerous Serie A betting futures favoring Roma and Milan to secure the remaining Champions League spots. Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at what promises to be an intense final weekend.

Milan vs Cagliari

Massimiliano Allegri’s side returned to winning ways at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris last time out, ending a dismal three-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Genoa. However, the Rossoneri cannot afford to rest on their laurels, especially after going three consecutive home league matches without a win.

Cagliari’s visit could bode well, considering Milan have won 19 of their last 21 home meetings against the Sardinians in Serie A since their previous defeat at San Siro back in 1997. Ominously, though, one of the two draws during that stretch came in last season’s corresponding fixture. Holding a two-point advantage over Juventus and Como, Milan simply cannot afford another slip-up here.

Cremonese vs Como

Cesc Fabregas has already achieved a historic feat at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, with Como set to compete in European football for the first time in the club’s history. However, the Lariani still harbor slim hopes of securing a Champions League place after winning three of their last four league matches.

While their Champions League destiny remains out of their hands, Como will be determined to do their part when they travel to face relegation-threatened Cremonese on Sunday. Despite battling at the opposite end of the table, La Cremo could make life difficult for the visitors as they desperately seek a win to preserve their top-flight status.

Torino vs Juventus

Luciano Spalletti is staring down the barrel of a major disappointment, with Juventus on the verge of missing out on a top-four finish for the first time since the 2022/23 season. It’s fair to say the Bianconeri have been the architects of their own downfall after dropping points in three of their last four league matches, including a disastrous 2-0 home defeat to Fiorentina last week.

As a result, Juventus need either Milan or Roma to stumble on the final day. They must also avoid another setback themselves, which may prove easier said than done given they face bitter rivals Torino in the latest edition of the Derby della Mole. If there’s any consolation for Juve supporters, the club has lost just once in the last 41 meetings between these sides.

Hellas Verona vs Roma

Gian Piero Gasperini is one step away from guiding Roma to their first Serie A top-four finish since 2017/18, largely thanks to an impressive run of four consecutive victories during the final stretch of the campaign. A 2-0 derby victory over Lazio last weekend should provide the Giallorossi with the perfect momentum heading into this make-or-break trip to the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Despite already preparing for life in Serie B, Hellas Verona could still prove tricky opposition, as demonstrated by their stubborn 1-1 draw away to Juventus a fortnight ago. Nevertheless, Roma’s back-to-back wins over Verona without conceding perhaps best underline their status as clear pre-match favorites.
