Serie A Rivals Join Hands to Charter Players Back to Europe

Serie A rivals Juventus and Napoli face each other in a crucial encounter on September 11 as the season resumes after the international break.

Their respective players David Ospina and Juan Cuadrado however, will play against one another in Colombia vs Chile’s South American World Cup qualifiers on Thursday night. Taking part in the match is also Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal and a host of players from other European clubs.

The Serie A teams that employ them apparently want them back as soon as possible in the peninsula before the season restarts, according to Calciomercato. Their scheduled flights will not be able to make it in time for their club fixtures, so the arch-rivals have reportedly joined hands to charter a flight back to Europe.

Colombia’s match against Chile in Barranquilla is the focal point – which sees players from clubs from all over Europe take part. Bologna’s Gary Medel, KRC Genk’s Daniel Munoz and Carlos Cuesta, Porto’s Mateus Uribe and Luis Diaz, Fiorentina’s Erick Pulgar, Feyenoord’s Luis Sinisterra and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Santos Borre.

Taking part in the initiative are also the different clubs mentioned above. A private jet financed by the clubs will fly all the aforementioned players to Paris from Barranquilla as soon as the match is finished. From Paris, the players will board different flights to their respective club destinations.

Ospina and Cuadrado are bound to land directly in Naples from Paris to join their respective teams for the blockbuster match.
