On a foggy night in Cluj, Romania’s champions CFR took on Serie A’s Roma in a replay of Matchday 3 in the Europa League. Then, an energized Roma, playing on home soil, all but dismantled CFR by a 5-0 scoreline. With one month since the original encounter, Dan Petrescu’s men took to the field anxious to restore some of their pride. They lost again, but only by 2-0.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan stole the show with a hat-trick tonight, scoring all the goals as Roma won 3-1 at Genoa in Serie A Round 7. Roma went into the game having not lost in 8 matches in all competitions (at least on the pitch...) but without Edin Dzeko who tested positive for Covid. They faced a Genoa side who’d not won in 5 Serie A outings. The difference in class showed from the off.
